AGC of California Expands Workforce Development Team

The Associated General Contractors of California (AGC) is pleased to announce the promotion of Kim Hudson to Director, Industry Advancement, for AGC’s Workforce Development Team. After a year supporting AGC’s Government Affairs team, Hudson will now transition to lead and oversee AGC industry advancement programs designed to foster a highly trained, skilled, diverse and inclusive workforce at AGC member companies and California’s construction industry at large.

As we approach AGC’s Centennial Anniversary in 2020 and look to the future, identifying and providing critical industry training and education to our current workforce is a top priority for the association. We are thrilled to bring Hudson to the Workforce Development team, who will play a vital role in expanding our industry development efforts across the state and make AGC the agency of choice for building and strengthening California’s current roster of construction professionals.

Prior to her new role, Hudson supported AGC’s Government Affairs team by working with owners, agencies and elected officials in the areas of small business development, regulatory compliance and securing funding for furthering the advancement of construction project pipelines. Before joining the ranks of AGC, she worked in workforce development as the Work Based Learning Program Director for the Castro Valley/Eden Area Chamber of Commerce. In this role, she oversaw professional development programs and trainings and orchestrated panel events with local agencies to support the development of a highly skilled future workforce.

Hudson was born and raised in Dublin, Calif. where she resides with her family and long-term partner. She graduated form San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality, Tourism and Event Management. She will start her new role with AGC on December 10, 2019 and will operate out of AGC’s Northern California Office in Concord.
